Clinical & professional experience
Prior to starting her private practice, Suzanne gained valuable experience working as a PMHNP across multiple clinical settings, including a private community psychiatric practice, a large health system, and a private company focused on skilled nursing geriatric psychiatry.
Before earning her advanced PMHNP degree, her nursing background included inpatient psychiatric nursing care and utilization management, including psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, crisis stabilization, care coordination, insurance prior authorizations and appeals, and multidisciplinary treatment planning.
She also has bedside nursing experience in medical intermediate and telemetry care, and community nursing experience in home health and hospice. These experiences reinforced her belief in considering physical health conditions when addressing emotional and psychological conditions.
Prior to nursing, Suzanne worked in human services: first as a mental health technician in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, then in inpatient case management, community mental health case management, and leadership roles including Director of the Huntingdon Base Service Unit and Director of Blended Case Management for Huntingdon, Mifflin, and Juniata Counties.
“It was not my plan to start a private practice, but I believe it was intended.”
